Five student teams from 3 different countries (India, France and the U.S.) have taken an active part in this project. In each country, one student group has decided to look upon one issue, either water or waste, in order to depict the situation of its country in terms of quantitative, economic, political and innovative aspects.

In the spring of 2012, six students from Tenor High School in Milwaukee, their teacher, and two scientists from the University Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences undertook the film project for the water management side. With enthusiasm, they used their geographic situation to study the sustainability of water on the Great Lakes and the issue of sewage overflow. They try to come pu zith smart and sustainable solutions, helped by a few field trips on Lake Michigan, which is literately at their doorsteps.
The Team People’s is a group of 5 girls and boys in their early teens studying at the People’s High School, an iconic entity located in the Goan capital Panjim which is celebrating its platinum jubilee in 2012. With the help of their science teacher and many scientists, officials and NGO members, they take us into their local waste management issues. The municipal area of Panaji appears as a model to follow for the entire region, where the most common policies regarding wastes management tends to be ‘NIMBY’ (Not In My Back Yard!).

After a trip Costa-Rica and Panama last year for a global youth ecological summit, the 4 leaders of the group try to use their environmental knowledges in order to compare lifestyles and wastes management. Their thoughts lead them to realize the influence of an active citizenship and the importance of our daily activities
