The "café des sciences" will serve as an opportunity to see four different projects which are proposed and animated by experts in their fields. These are 30 to 45 min sessions each with student interaction.

Tuesday, October 30th: 9:00-9:45 AM - Baldwin Auditorium

A class from the "Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy" will have an exchange with a class from the Lycée Charlie Chaplin of Décines. The students will make an observation of the altitude of the sun at exactly the same time. This observation will allow them to get the difference of longitude between Chicago and Lyon. This historical experiment will be reborn thanks to the videoconference. The students will show and discuss a selection of their favorite experiments. It is also an opportunity to have a cultural and scientific exchange.
